How do we respect the dignity and identity of vulnerable children in sharing their stories and images? This presentation will center around principles for practice and key questions for consideration when sharing stories and images of vulnerable children through media, advocacy, or promotion.

Esther Havens is a humanitarian photographer capturing stories that transcend a person’s circumstances and reveal their true strength. She has worked on social-awareness campaigns with organizations such as charity:water, TOMS Shoes, Warby Parker, and Malaria No More.

Ashley Otani, CAFO Director of Visual and Social Media
Awakened to the orphan crisis on her first missions trip right after college, the Lord led Ashley to join CAFO in 2011. Ashley is responsible for all design and media for CAFO, and strives to visually display the stories of the growing Christian orphan care movement.
