Building Resilience Through Relationship, Companion Primer

Some children, such as those outside of parental care or with a history of maltreatment, may have experienced unhealthy relationships that lead to less-than-optimal attachments with their caregivers. However, there is hope for children outside of parental care and those with a history of adversity. Healthy caregiver relationships can be built, even with non-biological caregivers. This healthy attachment can be a key ingredient in helping a child bounce back after adversity.

This booklet provides a brief window into the topic of attachment after adversity, equipping individuals dedicated to serving at-risk children and families to build resilience through relationship.
